Description

The major vehicle manufacturing firms are investing strongly in the production of vehicles running on electric energy. The decision to make electric vehicles is contributing to an increasing emergence of technicians specialised in these types of vehicles. These include electronic engineers, for example, who work on the electric vehicle manufacture process, since these types of vehicles are driven by electric energy generated by electrical and electronic elements.

Collaboration between companies' various departments is of vast importance. Since the mass production of electric vehicles is something relatively new, this means that electronic engineers' duties involve scouting, as well as designing, the product. Their tasks are therefore likely to vary as developments take place in the electric vehicle manufacturing process.

Tasks

The duties of this job include the following:
  • Work on the electronic aspects of projects for the manufacture of vehicles.
  • Work on the design, projection, manufacture and testing of prototypes.
  • Evaluating the electronic components of vehicles.
  • Studying new electronic components for vehicles.
  • Participating in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintaining contact with technology centres and engineering companies that are developing or may develop technology related to electric vehicles.
