Industrial painter.

Description

The industrial painting technician is an expert in carrying out this surface treatment, the purpose of which is to coat a metallic or other kind of surface with a liquid or powdered chemical to give it both a finish and some protection against environmental aggressions (oxidation, corrosion...). Although in some cases painting is still done by hand, it is now more common to use automated painting techniques in a painting line when working on series of a certain size. This includes a degreasing section (in some cases) a painting section and a drying section (oven), as the parts are taken from one section to the next via a chain transport system. The industrial painting technician may paint by hand (with a brush or gun) or specialise in handling the control of the automated line. The industrial painting technician reports to the painting manager or production manager.

  • Prepare the paint, mixing paint and solvents according to a specific formula.
  • Program the painting line according to the pieces to be painted.
  • Prepare the surface to be painted (degrease, clean,...).

  • Organise the purchase of paints and solvents.
  • Suggest improvements to be made to the painting process.
  • Maintain a good relationship with other sections of the production line (production, packaging...).
  • Take into account environmental and risk prevention regulations when painting.
