Description

The Operations Director sees to it that the logistic organisation of the company is able to optimally respond to supply, production and distribution requirements and anticipates the availability of resources accordingly. The purpose of this professional is to manage available resources and define internal merchandise intake and outflow processes, as well as quality levels, to guarantee a competitive product and service.

Tasks

  • Ensure clients receive the requested supplies and maximise the use of resources and stocks.
    Monitor the development of the logistics schedule and establish the correlation between the logistics policy and customer service objectives. Assess strategic planning costs and review the implemented planning methods and procedures.
    Assess environmental parameters in order to minimise the impact of the operation on the environment.
    Control and implement the follow-up of technical operation parameters.
  • Define the logistic strategy of the company, stock levels and the necessary means of production.
    Determine the best or newest versions of the system, as well as the methods and resources required for the integration of any activities involved in the flow of materials and finished products.
    In charge of follow-up and controlling stocks, intake and outflow.
    Assess security stock standards, as well as transport and service condition requirements.
    Take initiative to minimise losses and implement improvement plans.
  • Manage overall planning.
    Initiate planning procedures and aim for profitability on a global scale.
    Study the relevant plans and operations with the operational managers in charge.
    In charge of implementing previously defined logistic plans.
    Coordinate and carry out the follow-up of operational reports.
    Cooperate with the sales department to adapt production to the needs of the customer.
