Description

The professional responsible for undertaking train maintenance. To ensure operation and optimum use, which will imply carrying out electric and mechanical services periodically, carrying out repairs, and the internal maintenance of trains, for example, the bodywork, panelling, passage seats, etc.

Tasks

The main tasks of train maintenance operators are summarised below:
  • Undergo regular preventative and corrective maintenance of the trains that transport passengers or goods.
  • Work under the orders of mobile material engineers in train maintenance improvement projects. Projects that aim to increase security installations, reliability, availability, maintenance and comfort.
  • Carry out electric and mechanical tests of train systems so as to ensure their operation.
  • Identify anomalies in the operation of trains and carry out pertinent repair tasks.
  • Generate documentation on maintenance undertaken both in revisions and repairs.
