  Full time with flexible working hours. One should keep in mind the fact that many taxi drivers work night shifts and that days off are not, in many cases, weekends. Nonetheless, the maximum working day is of 40 hours a week. In addition 12 hours must pass between the end of a working day and the beginning of the next. In addition, vehicles should be stationary 2 days a week. In terms of working hours, day-time service schedule is of 10 hours; between 06:00h and 22:00h, and the night time schedule is of 8 hours, between the 22:00h and 06:00h. 2-hours break for meals between both turns is included in this schedule. In addition, during months immediately following the acquisition of a licence, the holder will have the obligation of operating exclusively in a night-time schedule. The Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Taxi Institute will establish the duration of this obligation, without exceeding 18 months. In the case in which the taxi driver profession is exercised outside of the city of Barcelona, these requirements will be set by the local administration.
