Mobility and Logistics: Logistics and freight management
Logistics and freight management correspond to the range of activities that seek to place a product or goods in a specific location at the lowest cost and at the right time. Understood from an integrated perspective, it consists of the management of information and material flows, affecting all the processes performed by a company: supply and procurement; production and physical distribution (storage and transport); with a view to ensuring customer satisfaction, the optimisation of a company's resource and increasing its competitiveness and effectiveness. In that sense, the incorporation of ICTs has been a decisive factor in foreseeing customer needs, reducing response times, optimising warehouse management and improving aspects including distribution routes and process traceability.
