Description

The diving technician is the professional trained to promote and intervene in leisure and recreation activities. His training allows him to organize and promote sports dives in open water of up to 5 atmospheres of pressure. He conducts groups of divers as a guide and gives courses for qualifications to be obtained, always in accordance with safety and environmental conditions.
His professional activity is centred on sport diving guide, diving instructor, diver, accompanying and safety diver in training courses for divers and in water sports competitions or assistant for the coordination of activities in clubs and diving centres.
Likewise, the diving technician develops professional tasks in the field of aquaculture, underwater archaeology, as a professional specialist in ship repairs and refloating, cutting and welding of floating structures as well as underwater rescues.
Performs all types of underwater work for law enforcement and emergency agencies.

Tasks

- Organization of discovery activities following pre-established itineraries and underwater navigation.
- Management and direction of sport diving events in specialized training centres.
- Prepare and maintain the necessary materials and resources in a perfect state of preservation in order to carry out the dives.
- Ensures the safety of the participants involved in diving activities in order to guarantee excellence.
- Carries out general diving work such as hydraulic works, archaeological work, sampling work and underwater filming.
- Carries out refloating, cutting and welding work as well as on floating devices and submerged metal structures.
- Conducts oceanographic studies, assessment and protection of submerged natural and cultural heritage.
