Description

The person in charge of recreational Boat Navigation assumes responsibility for the boat, crew and passengers on the boat, taking care of navigation, safety and compliance with applicable regulations.
The size of the recreational boat determines the qualification of the person in charge of navigation, and therefore it is always necessary to be in possession of the corresponding certification, since this also determines the type of navigation that can be carried out.

Tasks

As Port Master: Responsible for navigating the boat as a skipper with up to 150 passengers, either on a proprietary boat or working for nautical companies that rent boats. Carrying merchant ships of not more than 100 GT gross tonnage up to 3 miles from a port. To act simultaneously as a skipper and chief engineer, provided that the boat is equipped with the appropriate automated systems and the power does not exceed 375 kW on a single engine. With a Professional Skipper Certification for Recreational Boats (PPER): Responsible for navigation on a boat as a skipper carrying up to 12 passengers, either on a proprietary boat or working for nautical companies that rent boats. With this certification, you will be able to steer boats up to 24 meters long and up to 60 miles from the coast, with a total of 12 passengers. Lecturer on the theory and practice of navigation in nautical training schools. Transfer of boats across the peninsula and between archipelagos.
