Description

Social integration technicians are responsible for scheduling, organising, performing and assessing social integration activities by evaluating the information obtained on a case-by-case basis and applying the most suitable strategies and techniques in order to foster the development of individuals¿ independence and occupational integration.

Tasks

Social integration technicians carry out the following tasks:
  • Schedule, organise and assess social integration interventions.
    Obtain information about the cases assigned based on the reports received, the general schedule established and from other complementary sources.
    Draw up the intervention programme and establish the support standards and procedures for the cases assigned based on the defined user support plan.
    Organise and coordinate the human, material and economic resources involved in the programme, optimising their allocation in line with the set targets. Keep the intervention paperwork in order.
    Assess intervention programmes in order to ensure that each programme meets the social integration needs of the case assigned.
  • Organise and oversee support activities for cohabitation units.
    Define support protocols according to the programme established and adapt the resources needed to perform the activities scheduled.
    Organise the user¿s habitual residence and the allocation of technical support. Instruct and advise the cohabitation unit on the responsibilities and actions they must take on.
    Oversee domestic maintenance tasks in line and take care of domestic management tasks for the cohabitation unit in line with the programme established.
    Apply assessment techniques and procedures in order to valuate to what extent the unit assigned has had its basic needs met and its competencies have been developed.
  • Train the user to acquire personal and social independence skills.
    Learn and oversee the set activities for mobility loss prevention and apply the established programme and safety standards.
    Provide support and foster the user¿s communication skills, while helping to raise their level of understanding of the messages communicated and developing their relationships.
    Instruct users on basic skills for their personal and social independence.
    Apply assessment techniques and procedures to evaluate the results obtained in the development of the assigned user¿s independence.
  • Oversee occupational integration activities.
    Determine the lines of action, where the user¿s occupational integration is concerned based on the indicators and the techniques laid out in the assessment plan.
    On the ground, analyse the extent to which the integration activities and techniques meet the needs of the case assigned in collaboration with the managers of the integration organisation.
    Instruct and advise users and their guardians or relatives on the responsibilities and actions that must be taken on in relation to occupation, as well as the necessary procedures or requirements in order to pursue their occupational integration.
    Apply assessment techniques and procedures to evaluate the success of the assigned user¿s occupational integration.
  • Accompany the integration processes to the host communities of migrants.
    Help to bridge the gap between the host society and the different immigrant groups and perform tasks to foster knowledge, respect and integration in order to foster diversity, knowledge of and respect for different cultural systems.
    Provide advice and information to groups of immigrants and the host society in order to improve the processes of integration and cultural exchange between both populations.
    Schedule, design and lead actions to foster cultural integration, a culture of diversity and the fight against xenophobia in various fields aimed at both the immigrant and native populations (talks, seminars, workshops, conferences, parties, cultural events, etc.).
