Work as a Vocational Education Teacher in private or public centres. In the first case, apply for centres with vacancies. In the second case, register as a trainee or enter and pass a merit-based entry exam called by the educational administration to become a civil servant, in the case of Catalonia, the Department of Education. Presentation for the entry exam requires fulfilling certain conditions, including:

• Have at least the specialty degree required to teach the assigned subjects (the degree may be a university degree, the corresponding certificate or other equivalent teaching certificates).
• Have Spanish nationality, that of other European union member states or of another state to which Directive 2004/38/EC of the European Parliament on the free movement of workers is applicable.
• Not be a career civil servant, trainee civil servant or be pending appointment to the same body the entry exam is for.

• Work hours

  Employment is for 37.5 hours a week, distributed in a flexible way between mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday. This is defined by the applicable collective agreement.

• Salary

  The salary is calculated in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and depends on the number of years they have held the position of vocational education teacher. This is between 30,000 and 40,000 euros gross a year.
