Sign language interpreter technician

Description

Sign language interpreters perform actions involving the translation of Spanish sign language (SSL), other sign languages used in Spain, as well as the international sign language (ISL)into official and co-official languages used in Spain, and vice versa. Similarly, they may serve as guides and interpreters for deafblind people, correctly using the linguistic systems involved in the communication process and applying suitable interpreting techniques, depending on the nature and type of service.

Tasks

  • Translate from Spanish sign language and the sign language of the autonomous community into an oral language, and vice versa.
    Prepare the interpreting task, in order to guarantee the results of the communication.
    Translate from Spanish sign language or the sign language of the relevant autonomous community into oral Spanish or the oral language spoken in the autonomous community, using the most suitable techniques and resources, in order to optimise the reliability and accuracy of the translation..

  • Perform the role of guide-interpreter for deafblind people.
