Description

These professionals are in charge of planning, organising and promoting leisure park facilities, commercial leisure spaces and leisure centres in general. They are responsible for ensuring the correct coordination and proper functioning of all those leisure options available in these facilities.


Within the spaces that they can manage, we can find theme parks, commercial parks and spaces related to leisure for recreational-educational purposes, such as farm schools or historical buildings. In addition, they manage the programming of activities in these spaces, which may include guided tours, exhibitions, sports competitions, game sessions or concerts, among others.

Tasks

Depending on the size of the facility managed, these professionals will assume all or part of the following tasks:

Planning, organisation and supervision of the proper functioning of the leisure facility
  • Draw up and organise a programme of fun, recreational, educational and care services and activities, which may or may not be contracted with public administrations or non-governmental organisations and adapted to the characteristics and needs of their clientele.
  • Propose and define the action plan for new activities.
  • Oversee the programming of activities and their development, according to the recreational, educational or sports objectives that have been determined.
  • Assess the results: the satisfaction of the participants in the activities, the efficiency of the resources used, as well as the learning, in cases where this is an objective.

Management of human and financial resources.
  • Identify the professional profiles necessary for the various tasks to be carried out.
  • Establish criteria for the comprehensive management of the facility staff (trainers, instructors, pedagogues, facilitators, etc.).
  • Manage the financial resources and take care of the business management of the centre (budgetary control, accounting, etc.).
  • Study the possible investments to be made.
Ensure the safety and maintenance of the facility
  • Establish and spread awareness of specific safety and hygiene standards and ensure their compliance.
  • Control the proper functioning of the facilities (attractions, educational spaces, workshops, commercial spaces, etc.) in collaboration with the person in charge of maintenance.

Carry out communication and promotion actions for the facility
  • Externally represent the leisure facility at the time of establishing contacts with companies and organisations (including other similar centres), related to the promotion of recreational, training activities, visits, or in order to contract services.
  • Design marketing plans to promote the centre, where it operates for-profit services.
