• Verify compliance with educational regulations in the education centers assigned. The centres can be of elementary or secondary schools or vocational training as well as centres for adult training, special education, conservatories, art and language schools, among other education centers.
• Supervise the teaching activity in the centers described in the previous point. The control consists of regular visits to centres to:
  • Check the condition of the school infrastructures.
  • Control the teaching tasks of the teachers of the centre through participation as a listener in the classes.
  • Control the organisation of the centres on a functional level. That is, check that management, teaching, administration tasks, etc., are carried out by the assigned persons and that workloads are distributed evenly according to the position held.
    
• Assess the condition of the centre on a structural and teaching level.
• Assess the student body's educational needs and, especially those of any person who has some type of disability or at risk of social exclusion.
• Advise the people working in the schools on the basis of the results of the inspections made.
• Regularly inform the educational administration about the inspection and assessment performed, that is, on compliance with regulations, the teaching activities and organisation of the centres, by means of quantitative and qualitative reports.
  

Regulated training and graduates

The school inspector should at least have a university degree equivalent to the current degree, degree in engineering or architecture, or to have a PhD in any subject. The specialty of the degree will determine the subjects and centers assigned for inspection, for example, in secondary school centers in technological, scientific or social subjects.
