Description

The person responsible for the guest reception and assistance and providing information in an establishment. The job includes administrative and commercial functions. This is the first impression the guest receives on arrival at the establishment and therefore the person should project an image of effectiveness and professionalism.

Tasks

  • Organize and manage reception services, common areas and accommodation in an establishment.
    The person responsible for external and internal public relations.
    Manage bookings to ensure an optimum level of occupation.
    Formalize and manage the information derived from guest check-in and check-out.
    Attend to guests during their stay to solve any practical incident.
    Inform guests about, and sell, the added-value services of the establishment.
    Ensure other departments provide services correctly and include them on the bill.
    Provide information on places of interest and obtain tickets for shows and performances.
    Create customer loyalty through service, sometimes obtaining extended stays or the guest's return to the establishment.
  • Control, bill and collect payment for all services provided to guests.
    Distinguish different payment methods, organizing cash payments and the follow-up of final payment by credit card.
  • Participate in the quality management of the establishment.
    Receive the impressions, suggestions and complaints from guests and forward them to the management and the departments involved, with the idea of improving the service.
  • Sometimes be responsible for legal aspects such as recording guest passports.
