Head of knowledge transfer

Technology transfer is the process of transferring knowledge in order to turn it into a product, procedure or provision of a service. There are two different players in the technology transfer process: on the one hand, the knowledge producer (which contributes scientific knowledge and/or the technology) and, on the other hand, the recipient, which receives the technology and uses it in the market. The person responsible for technology transfer markets the knowledge generated at their entity (university, hospital, research entity or company), either through licences or the creation of technologically-based companies. They are responsible for turning the generated knowledge into value, which means transforming this knowledge into products and services for the market.

• Know the sector's needs and the scientific and technological offering of knowledge-generating entities.
• Identify shared interests, put both parties in touch with each other and negotiate on behalf of the represented entity.
• Provide the companies access to scientific and technological innovations.
• Promote the applied research (in order to create new products and services to benefit society) in which research companies and entities collaborate.
• Carry out visits and interviews with technological companies and centres.
• Participate in meetings for the exchange of technological supply and demand (brokerage events).
• Provide the necessary advising and support for the carrying out of scientific-technological projects with business viability.
• Identify and provide access to financing sources in order to promote business projects.
• Coordinate the patent application through specialised patent agents.
• Collaborate in the development of environments that favour the creation of new biotechnologically-based companies.
• Support the organisation of specific training courses and other promotional activities of the service.

  The work day may be part or full time, either intensive or split shift.

• Salary

  The remuneration varies, on average, between 25,000 and 35,000 euros (gross) a year for people with less than one year of experience, and between 35,000 and 50,000 euros (gross) a year for those with more than three years of experience.
