Competition law and policy managers analyse and advice companies and public institutions on the conditions for safeguarding competition, when a merger or takeover is being mooted or planned. In this regard, they strive to avoid agreements or concerted practices between companies, abuses of dominant position or concentrations in the sector that potentially represent an infringement of competition regulations.

Tasks

  • Study and interpret the regulations governing competition policy in Catalonia, Spain and Europe.
  • Advise companies and public institutions on measures for safeguarding competition.
  • Investigate cases in which it is expected that current regulations on competition will be infringed.
  • Research, document and prepare cases in which charges have been brought due to infringement of current regulations on competition.
  • Represent their client or act on behalf of the State before the Spanish Competition Tribunal.
