Description

Investment and innovation manager a professional specialized in investment in information technology and communication (ICT). Promotes these technologies development of and looks for its outputs. Investments can be carried out in companies, over entrepreneurship ideas or to encourage new business ideas.

The main function of this professional is to identify new technological solutions through a continuous market prospect (searching news in specialized media, contacting with technology companies, identifying market studies, etc.) and analyze them to assess the suitability of investing in. This force he/she to keep up with priority areas of Smart cities sector and with Smart technology solutions applied.

Investment and innovation manager can work like a freelance or as an employee, usually in organizations developing intermediation services between companies, entrepreneurs and investors (business angels networks), or in venture capital funds and seed money/seed capital.

Tasks

  • To analyze ideas, projects and technology companies, and to identify those that may become an alternative investment.
  • To diagnose about the feasibility of the technology project, taking into account the market needs, product opportunities and financial options, and deciding on the appropriateness of investing.
  • To assess about the amount of capital to invest in each project, idea or company.
  • To negotiate investment conditions.
  • To contact with other potential investors or stakeholder to look for funding, or to be the initial mediator between entrepreneurs or company with investors.
  • To participate in new ideas or products development, and to contribute with its knowledge and experience to the reorganization of the company, its constitution or business development.
  • To monitor business idea, its market penetration and future options.
  • To manage, control and supervise workers performing tasks of finding new projects, feasibility studies and investment appraisal.
  • To maintenance and expansion the network of business contacts doing visits or meetings with companies, innovative business groups, entrepreneurs, development agencies, parks and technology centers, universities or business schools.
